Spring 2026 Promo: Free ERV with VY Flex House Kit Purchase

Between 15 March and 30 June 2026 we ran a spring promotion: every VY Flex House Kit order included a VY Energy Recovery Ductless Ventilator at no charge. The offer applied to all Flex models and closed at the end of June. It has not been extended.

What the kits contain today

The Flex kits described in the original version of this article were sold as complete houses built around an insulated formblock wall system. That is no longer what we supply. Each kit is now a fixed-price package of the parts we do best:

• The complete Drutex window and door set, made to the openings on the plan
• The flooring for the full floor area, in one of our two stocked colours
• The house plan itself, as a full drawing set for the wall system you choose
• Ocean freight and delivery to Prince Edward Island

The wall system, roof, foundation, mechanical systems, interior finishes and labour are not part of the kit. Each plan has its own published price, freight to Prince Edward Island included, and the shop lists them all — house plans and garage plans.

About the ERV in that offer

The unit was — and still is — the VY Energy Recovery Ductless Ventilator, rated at 97% energy recovery. It is a ductless single-room unit, and its price in our shop is $549.99. An earlier version of this page quoted a much higher value for it; that figure was not correct and has been removed.

Why heat recovery still matters here

The reasoning behind the promotion has not changed, even though the promotion has. Once a building envelope is tight enough to meet current energy codes, mechanical ventilation stops being optional: without it, moisture and CO₂ build up, and the tighter the build, the faster. Heat recovery is what lets you ventilate a Maritime house through a long, cold shoulder season without throwing away the heat you paid for.

What we supply for that today is on the Heating Systems page — heat pumps, the ERV, and a hybrid hot-water unit. If you want a package quoted for a specific build, send us the square footage and the plan.

We do not have a promotion running in place of this one. Kit prices are published per plan in the shop, freight to PEI included, and we quote glazing options and the overhead garage door alongside on request.
