Install the starting rail

Two ways possible

The starting rails must be assembled at 45 degrees. They must be fixed from their thick parts, do not nail or screw anything in the groove of the rail. Before screwing (3 1/2” screw recommended) or nailing the rail, it is recommended to spread a bead of glue or urethane underneath or insulation.

Option 1

The rail is fixed on the edge of the slab. This option will increase the living space a little but a larger piece of 2” insulation foam will be installed at the bottom of the wall.

Option 2

The rail is set back two inches from the edge of the slab, this way the OSBLOCK™ ends up straight with the slab. You will need to install a 2”x2” insulation foam at the bottom.
