Heat-recovery and energy-recovery ventilators for tight, code-compliant new builds. European-engineered units with up to 92% sensible-recovery efficiency, ECM motors, and capacities sized for single-family residential through multi-unit residential.
Both systems recover energy from exhaust air to pre-condition incoming ventilation air. The difference is whether they also transfer moisture.
HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilator): Transfers sensible heat only. Best for drier climates, heating-dominant buildings, and kitchens / bathrooms where fast moisture removal matters.
ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator): Transfers heat AND moisture. Best where winter humidity drops are uncomfortable, or where summer moisture load is significant. Our preferred default for most Atlantic Canada residential installs.
92% sensible recovery: Top-tier unit efficiency reduces the heating load attributable to fresh-air ventilation by ~85–90% vs. no recovery.
ECM motor, variable speed: Runtime energy consumption 40–60% lower than PSC-motor units typical in older installations.
Winter-humidity comfort Our ERV default reduces indoor-RH swings during PEI/NS/NB winters — keeping homes above the 30% RH threshold where respiratory discomfort begins.
NBC 2020 compliance Our units meet the continuous-ventilation requirements of National Building Code 2020, Section 9.32, adopted by all Atlantic provinces.

Frequently asked
Can one ERV serve a multi-storey home?
Yes — a correctly sized 150+ CFM unit with fully-ducted supply and exhaust runs handles most 2- to 3-storey single-family homes. For larger homes or zone-independent ventilation (e.g. in-law suite), specify a second unit.
What about defrost control in cold climates?
All our units include automatic defrost mode that cycles the exhaust airstream through the core when outdoor temps drop below ~-5°C, preventing frost buildup.
Do you supply ducting too?
Ducting is handled by the installer, but we supply transition pieces and the specific diffusers recommended for the unit. Request details on your project quote.
Certifications?
Our units carry HVI (Home Ventilating Institute) performance certifications and meet CSA C439 for residential ventilators.
Building tight? You need fresh-air recovery.
Tell us the home square footage and number of bathrooms/kitchens — we will size the right ERV or HRV and quote delivery to your jobsite.
