TMG tire changers and wheel balancers: how the HEADLAND machines compare
TMG Industrial sells two swing-arm tire changers, the TMG-TC24 and the TMG-TC24A, and two wheel balancers, the TMG-WB24 and the TMG-WB24H. This page sets each one beside the closest HEADLAND machine from VY Build Inc. on the figures both sellers publish.
In short: on tire changers the published clamping ranges are close, and the price difference is CAD 100 to 700 depending on model and channel. On balancers the difference is data entry: both TMG balancers use manual entry, both HEADLAND equivalents enter distance and diameter automatically, and the HEADLAND WB-24 from stock is CAD 4 below the TMG-WB24.

TMG-TC24 against HEADLAND TC-24. Same internal range, 12 to 24 inches, and the same 41 inch maximum wheel. The TMG clamps 10 to 22 inches externally; the HEADLAND TC-24 clamps 10 to 21 inches, one inch less at the top. The TMG is CAD 2,499. The TC-24 is 1,795 on Container Run or 2,195 from stock, so 704 or 304 less.
TMG-TC24 against HEADLAND TC-26. For CAD 104 less than the TMG from stock, or 504 less on Container Run, the TC-26 clamps 14 to 26 inches internally and takes a 45 inch wheel against 41. The trade is at the small end: the TC-26 starts at 14 inches internally and 12 inches externally, where the TMG starts at 12 and 10.
TMG-TC24A against HEADLAND TC-26 PRO. Both come with a single help arm. The TMG is a swing-arm machine with a 24 inch internal range at CAD 3,499. The TC-26 PRO is a tilt-back column machine with a 26 inch internal range and a 45 inch maximum wheel, at 3,295 on Container Run or 3,895 from stock. On Container Run it is 204 less than the TMG; from stock it is 396 more. Whether the tilt-back column and the extra two inches are worth 396 depends on the wheels you see.

TMG-WB24 against HEADLAND WB-24. Same rim range and the same LED display. The TMG uses manual entry: the operator measures distance, diameter and width and sets each one by hand. The WB-24 reads distance and diameter from the gauge arm; only width is set by hand. The WB-24 also has a hood. The TMG is CAD 1,999; the WB-24 is 1,995 from stock or 1,595 on Container Run.
TMG-WB24H against HEADLAND WB-24 and WB-24 L. The WB24H adds a hood to the WB24 for CAD 2,199, with manual entry. The HEADLAND WB-24 already has a hood and automatic entry at 1,995 from stock, which is 204 less. For 4 less than the WB24H on Container Run, or 396 more from stock, the WB-24 L adds a laser for weight placement and an LCD display with LED work light.
What the figures do not tell you
A table of published figures cannot tell you how a machine is built, how the pneumatics are routed, or how the seller handles a warranty claim. TMG is an established Canadian seller with a large catalogue and its own customer base, and this page does not claim its machines are worse than HEADLAND’s. It claims only what the two sellers publish, as of 4 October 2026.
Three questions are worth asking any seller, including VY Build, before buying either brand:
Which body approved the machine for electrical safety in Canada, and is it a field evaluation of this unit or a certification of the model? See the page on electrical approval for what the difference is.
Is the serial number on the machine, and does it match the paperwork?
Which parts are stocked in Canada, and where?
For HEADLAND, the answers are: every unit is field-evaluated in Canada, one machine at a time, by a body accredited by the Standards Council of Canada, and receives a label with its own number before it leaves VY Build. That approves the one machine; it is not a certification of the model. Every HEADLAND machine carries a unique serial number. Parts are held at the Charlottetown warehouse.
Buying online: one point of consumer law
Both TMG and VY Build sell at a distance. If you are a sole proprietor buying online, Nova Scotia treats you as a consumer, so its internet sales rules apply to the purchase. Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador do not extend that protection to a business buyer. That is a point about your province, not about either seller.
About the figures on this page
TMG prices and specifications are as published by TMG Industrial on 4 October 2026 and may have changed since. Check with TMG before you buy. HEADLAND prices are VY Build list prices in Canadian dollars. Container Run is a pre-order with a 30% deposit and delivery from the February 2027 container; from stock is the Charlottetown warehouse, a channel that opens after the February 2027 container has landed and been evaluated. The two prices are two channels, not a discount on each other.
Questions we are asked
What is the difference between the TMG-TC24 and the TMG-TC24A?
As published by TMG Industrial on 4 October 2026, both are swing-arm tire changers clamping 10 to 22 inches externally and 12 to 24 inches internally, with a 41 inch maximum wheel. The TC24A includes a single help arm and is CAD 3,499; the TC24 has no help arm and is CAD 2,499.
Is the TMG-WB24 a manual or automatic wheel balancer?
TMG Industrial lists the TMG-WB24 and the TMG-WB24H with manual data entry: the operator measures distance, diameter and width and sets them by hand. The HEADLAND WB-24 reads distance and diameter from its gauge arm automatically.
Which HEADLAND machine is closest to the TMG-TC24?
The HEADLAND TC-24: same 12 to 24 inch internal range and 41 inch maximum wheel, external range 10 to 21 inches against TMG's 10 to 22. It is CAD 1,795 on Container Run or 2,195 from stock; the TMG-TC24 is CAD 2,499 as published on 4 October 2026.
Does VY Build sell or service TMG machines?
No. VY Build Inc. has no connection with TMG Industrial. This page compares the two brands on published figures only, so that a buyer looking at one can see the other.
If you have been pricing a TMG-TC24 or TMG-WB24, the HEADLAND TC-24 and WB-24 are the direct equivalents, and the TC-26 and WB-24 L are the step up. VY Build Inc. in Charlottetown can quote either channel with freight to your shop.
